Voices of Our Alumni
Hear from former residents of Diani Children’s Village and how the support they received helped shape their future.

"My name is Peter Yona, I was rescued by Diani Children’s Village when I was three months old, and it has been my home ever since. DCV gave me shelter, education, and guidance, shaping me into an independent. I discovered my passion for cooking and hospitality while at the home, and today I work as a mixologist and barista, using my skills to impact my community positively. I deeply appreciate the care, support, and life lessons from my house mothers, uncles, and the DCV team, which helped me grow and pursue my dreams with confidence."

"My name is Angelina. I was raised at Diani Children’s Village (DCV), which has truly been a home to me. The people there have always cared for us like family, and everyone played a role like a parent in our lives. Because of the love, guidance, and support I received, I never felt neglected or like there was any gap in my upbringing.DCV helped shape my values, confidence, and determination. Today I am living independently and running my own business. I am proud of how far I have come, and I will always be grateful to DCV for giving me a strong foundation and believing in me."

We invite donors, sponsors, and volunteers to walk this journey with us. Together, we can give children not just a home, but a future full of hope and opportunity.

"I’m Charles Kimani, 28 years old. I was brought to Diani Children’s Village when I was just two days old and grew up there until I finished university. My time at DCV gave me a loving home, opportunities, and the support I needed to grow as a person. Living with children from different backgrounds taught me how to relate with others, pursue my interests, and build independence. Today, I’m thriving professionally, and I’m grateful to DCV for nurturing me, providing a safe environment, and giving me the fundamentals to succeed in life. For any child here now, I want them to know this is a place to grow, learn, and follow their dreams."
